Do you have a large site that the search engines, just don't want to crawl the deeper levels? Use directores, such as UncoverTheNet that allow up to 4 anchor texts links to deeper pages. You can use these links to help rankings (ie use the anchor text) or link them to the deepest pages to encourage the search engine crawlers to go deep.
