I am CBP, a voluntary moderator at WebProWorld and occasional poster at other forums. I have a couple of online businesses and some sites on the internet, that all rely on SEO for their success. This site is more from the perspective of an SEO entrepeneur rather than a provider of SEO services. This experience as a webmaster and a moderator motivated me to put this beginners guide or frequently asked question site together for a number of reasons:

the same newbie questions often come up many times in the same and different forums.
there is much marketing hype and plain BS with rip offs in the SEO world (its getting better).
it is not uncommon to see someone mention a theory or idea at one forum and for it to turn up as a fact somewhere else (...and sometimes lead to heated arguments in forums).
the real basics of SEO are really do-it-yourself and don't need expenditure of money (unless you are in a very competitive area).

So its an attempt to provide the newbies with some information, but at the same time cutting through what I see as the BS, but at the same time giving links to forum threads for other opinions and advice on the same topic area.... sort of a "no spin zone" applied to SEO.
